Funeral services for Mrs. John O. Coskrey of Gatesville were held at 2 p. m. Tuesday in Scott's Funeral Home chapel. Rev. Kenneth Patrick officiated and burial was in Restland Cemetery.
Mrs. Coskrey died at 11 a. m. Saturday in the local hospital shortly after being stricken ill in a Gatesville rest home, where she was a patient. She was 84.
She was born Lorena Jo Blackmon in Tennessee Oct. 17, 1884, and came to Coryell County with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Blackmon, when she was only two months old. She married John Coskrey April 5, 1923. He died in 1953.
Mrs. Coskrey, who had lived in Gatesville for many years, was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors are one son, Glenn Coskrey of Waco; a daughter, Mrs. Myron K. Leonard of Cornfield, Ohio; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and five nephews and nieces who were reared in the Coskrey home—Aubrey Doyle of Fort Worth, Arvil Doyle of Houston, Emmett Doyle of Houston, and Mrs. Zoma Davies and Mrs. Irma Turner, both of Beverly Hills, Calif.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Coskrey's funeral were Bill Davis, Pete Patterson, A. H. Meadows, Jack Carroll, Ray Edmondson and Emmett Doyle.
